ἒ ἔ, or repeated [full] ἒ ἒ ἒ ἔ, an exclamation of pain or grief;
A woe! woe! A.Ag.1114, etc.; always doubled either once or twice and better written ἐέ (as in cod. [voice] Med. of A. and S.), or (where the metre requires an iambus)
